Trip 536: Hiking on Darb El-Mseilha - Nahr El-Jouz

With this amazing Spring weather and the splendid running Lebanese rivers, the best thing to do during these stressful times is to join the Footprints Nature Club this Sunday 22 May 2022 to walk next to one of the most beautiful rivers in Lebanon:

Hiking Darb El-Mseilha near Al-Jouz River - Batroun

The Mseilha Walkway (Darb Mseilha) is easily accessible from the Batroun highway before the Chekka tunnel, about 90 minutes north of Beirut.

The hike will mostly be along the Nahr El-Jouz (Nuts River) all the way from the village of Kaftoun. We will reach a place where we will enjoy the amazing views of the fully filled new Mseilha Lake, before ending nearby the  Mseilha Fort, a historic monument built by Emir Fakhreddine II in the 17th century to guard the route between Tripoli and Beirut

The walk is great for all levels as there will be no uphills during the walk.

Our walk will be of an Easy level (6 to 7/10 – 9.5 KMs – 4 hours).
