Trip 489: Camping & Rafting in Assi River


In this hot Summer weather, the Footprints Nature Club would like to invite you during the weekend of 03 & 04 August 2019, to cool up yourself in our:

Rafting Camp in Assi River

We will move from Beirut on Saturday afternoon, heading towards the Hermel Region in Northern Bekaa. When we reach the Rafting Club on the Assi River, we will mount our tents and enjoy a stay in the region before having our traditional Lebanese dinner in the restaurant of the Club. After dinner, we will enjoy a small sahra before going to sleep. Some surprises might take place during the sahra.

In the morning, we will wake up, pack our things and tents, and have our traditional Lebanese breakfast. When we finish we will start our rafting ride from there to the Dardara Waterfalls in the cool water.

If you have never done rafting before, this is an excellent opportunity for you to experience this special activity. And if you are an experienced rafter, then you will surely enjoy the camp and the company in the rafts the next day.

Reservations shall be done as soon as possible since the places will be based on the availability in the bus.

Note that the alcoholic drinks are strictly not allowed in the camp

Must Have

The weather might be cold especially at night, although we are in summer.
 
You should make sure to get the normal hiking gear that that you can find on our website in the page "How to Prepare?", and the following:  
  • A tent if you have one
  • Your medicines, if needed
  • Torch (lamp)
  • Sleeping bag or two warm blankets
  • Warm clothes
  • Anti-Mosquitos lotion
  • Things you use for toilet
  • Towel
  • Spare clothes and shoes that will surely get wet when you do the rafting
  • Snacks or soft drinks, 7alafeesh, marshmallows, candies, chocolate, chips, etc… as needed
  • Other important stuff you might need  
Each camper shall have his/her insurance policy.
 
Note that the alcoholic drinks are strictly not allowed in the camp

Cost Fees

Trip cost 125,000 L.L., includes:

The cost of the excursion will be 125,000 LL (115,000 LL if you have your own tent) per adult (40$ for children less than 9 years with their parents... Children less than 6 years for free) including the following:
  • Transportation from and back to Beirut
  • Cost of Rafting guides and equipment rental
  • Tents Rentals (deduce 10,000 LL if you have your own tent)
  • Dinner
  • Breakfast

 

Gathering Place & Time

Our gathering will be at the traffic lights on the crossroad of the General Security building الأمن العام and El-Mathaf المتحف region in Beirut. You can park in the parking nearby

We will start on Monday 03 Aug, 2009 at 02:00 PM.
The bus will move at 02:35 PM.
 We will stop for lunch on the way in Zahle. We might be obliged to do some modifications to the plans as needed during the trips.
We will finish on Tuesday 04 Aug, 2009 at 06:00 PM.

    THE LESS YOU CARRY, THE MORE ENJOYABLE THE HIKE.

    Avoid Huffing and Puffing

    IF YOU CAN TALK WHILE YOU ARE WALKING, YOU ARE WALKING THE PERFECT SPEED.

    Take a Break

    TAKE A TEN MINUTE BREAK AT LEAST ONCE EVERY HOUR.

  • 05

    No Food, No Fuel, No Fun

    DRINK FREQUENTLY AND EAT OFTEN.
