Trip 472: Hiking from Beiteddine to Shalalat Zarka thru 7orsh Baakline


One of the best places for hiking with the Footprints Nature Club this Sunday 24 March 2019 will be in one of the most beautiful regions in Shouf, and precisely:

Hiking from Beiteddine to Shalalat Zarka thru 7orsh Baakline

The hike will start from the valley under the famous Beiteddine Castle. We will head up to Baakline Village where we will tour the Hamadeh Castle. Our hike continues through Baakline Forest (7orsh Baakline) towards Reidan Sinkhole. The trail will end in the valley between Daraya and Baakline in a splendid place called the Blue Waterfalls (Shallalat Zarka).

The hike passes through magnificent places that are really not to be missed.

The hike will be of two levels:

  • Easy to Medium Level (6/10 - 9 KMs – 4 to 5 Hours): We will start directly in the village of Baakline and continue with the second group, thus skipping the uphill from Beit Eddine to Baakline.
  • Medium Level (6 to 7/10 – 11 KMs – 5 Hours): We will have an uphill from Beit Eddine to Baakline, then a down then up in 7orsh Baakline, before heading down to the valley of Daraya.

Note that we don't usually cancel our trip if it snows since in all cases, we should have our gear.

مشي في الطبيعة من بيت الدين الى الشلالات الزرقاء مروراً في حرش بعقلين

رحلتنا ستبدأ من الوادي تحت قصر بيت الدين صعوداً الى بلدة بعقلين حيث سنزور قصر آل حمادة. نتابع مسيرنا لنمر داخل محمية حرش بعقلين لنصل الى هوة ريدان الطبيعية. بعد ذلك سننزل باتجاه الوادي ما بين بعقلين وداريا لنصل الى منطقة الشلالات الزرقاء الرائعة.

المستوى العام للرحلة سيكون:

  • سهل الى متوسط (6/10، 9 كلم، 4 الى 5 ساعات)
  • متوسط (6 الى 7/10، 11 كلم، 5 ساعات)

    Take a Break

    TAKE A TEN MINUTE BREAK AT LEAST ONCE EVERY HOUR.

    No Food, No Fuel, No Fun

    DRINK FREQUENTLY AND EAT OFTEN.
